Those eclipse photos are great. They sure weren't joking when they said "close isn't good enough". With 88%, it got a little darker outside, but the sun seemed just as bright so the filter had to stay on. Not dramatic at all, but I'll be ready for the one in 2024 passing right by me.

Love the eclipse shots thus far! More please!

Regarding delivery, sometimes even being home and ready to take a delivery isn't enough. Our local mail service went through a period last year where every single parcel would result in a card being hurriedly pushed through the letterbox with the "you weren't home" option ticked, even when we plainly were. Eventually I emailed the local sorting office and suggested that maybe they should extend the card with an extra failed delivery failure option: "Couldn't be arsed"

:-)

Composite of the 2017 solar eclipse. Taken in Ontario, Oregon. The 5D4 was stationary the whole time. The interval timer was taking a shot every 5 minutes except for the "totality" image (I did that one myself). 34 shots layered together in Photoshop. It was my first eclipse, and my first composite shot of any kind.

In the lower left corner, the first few images look oval. Is that lens distortion (EF 24-105 II)? If so, how do I make them round? Lens correction in LR didn't do much of anything.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Yeah, I had to run out in my boxers as the UPS guy was going to deliver it to the wrong building!!!

Had 3 "Lost" items during the holidays, so order your stuff before Nov and After Jan if it's a high dollar item, as Fed Ex and UPS both subcontract out to people that don't exactly care if you spent $10 or $3500

Some of the partial before totality. I also posted a video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fhCQw8oeIBM (external link)
