Um, EF-S 24mm f/2.8 pancake. Very sharp lens.

I just sold that lens....

24mm f/2.8 x 1.6 crop factor is 38.4 FOV.

Canon has to wake up and build a 15 or 16mm f/1.4 prime so you get a 24mm Field of view equiv.

So I have a question I'm going to Italian days in Reno in October. I'm up in the air which lenses to bring. I'm thinking my 17-55 f2.8 and 70-200 f4L is . Or my 35mm f2 is and the 17-55. I will also be checking out UNR.while we are there one of my sons goes there. I also have a ef-s24mm stm and the 50stm. I don't think I will be taking them.

I cannot get myself to buy Sigma ever again....that's just my personal decision based on horrible experiences even with ART glass.

I can't get over paying that amount for a Sigma lens for my 80D. That's a prime lens that I wouldn't use on my full frame either.

IF canon developed a 16mm f/1.4 similar to the stellar consumer grade 35 f/2IS I'd buy it in a heartbeat!!!

yes they are great .. but I agree with alanU .. no constant aperture uwa zooms is a bummer..
I've been wanting one for the 80d for video poruses
I have the 10-18 which is only a f4.5 at its widest..
the 10-22 is a bit better but still only a 3.5 and again only at its widest .

I've been considering the 16-35 just so I can have premium glass and a constant f4(although i'd prefer f2.8)

I was considering the tokina 11-16 f2.8 .. under $500 and supposedly a pretty sharp lens

The 10-22 is f3.5 to f4.5 / You can adjust it to 4.5 and You have cheap lens at f4.5 ( 11-24 and 16-35 are f4)
Everything depand what You prefer money or premium lens

Still learning English. Sorry for language bugs.

Being used to the 40D and 50D over the years, this one is really hard sometimes to change settings. Stuff like picture style, I spent about 2 minutes trying to find it...of course it was right in front of my face but still...taking some time to get used to all the changes compared to my other bodies.

Yes, that is very subjective. I've sold 4"x6" youth sports prints to parents that were everywhere from ISO 100 to ISO 16,000. I've never once heard anybody say anything about the photo having noise. They do, however, want the photos to be properly exposed and in focus.

With that said, my comfort level for photos is around 1600, maybe 3200 with little or no cropping. If I have to go higher to get the right exposure, then so be it, but I expect the final image to suffer.

I'm a novice at noise reduction in editing, so I really can't add much more to the conversation.

Here's an ISO 1600, with minimal crop:
