Really jealous of events like that!

Just wondering - why f/18 & ISO6400? Or has the forum software got it wrong?

Forum members should be advised that there's nothing to be gained by studying the settings I use :p . That said, this was a fast-moving event, in poor and rapidly changing light, with the subjects greatly ranging in distance ( I also was switching between stills and video, but I guess that's no excuse for not selecting optimal settings.)
I had been stopped down to f/22 for some sun/starburst shots and also wanted to make sure I had enough DOF.
I didn't think I had enough time to fiddle with settings, but suggestions for another approach are welcomed :-) .

If guys can spend pages talking about their rides, I have to ask: catch anything?

Anually at the amusement park they have a "Super dogs" show. My kids love it.

I wanted to test the high iso capabilities with a UWA 16-35 f/2.8mk2. I think I'm gonna sell my 5d3 and buy another new 5dmk4 :)

I think both photos were 25600 iso.

I'm still trying to understand why my photos compression looks so bad on this forum.

Fuji not far behind but the 5D4 is a real joy.

Besides the CRAPPY battery life of the 5dmk4!!!!

I'd say Fuji is still behind the Canon. As far as AF performance in low light fuji cannot keep up with the Canon or Nikon mirrored bodies.

Image quality from my X-t2 is fantastic. I still must change my style of shooting if I had to shoot fuji for events work.

So far Fuji lenses cannot create the flash/sun bursts I prefer. I do not really like the fuji flash/sun burst images.

My buddy used the XT2 for awhile... he has a 1DX w/ all the nice L glass to go with it.

He said it's still not on par with focusing as the 1DX under any scenario.

I tend to agree.

I will openly say the Fuji files have surprised me in a big way!!! The Raw file is so flexible!!! Eye pleasing quality almost straight out of camera.

If I use my 80D, 5d3, 5d4 and track my child on a spinning amusement park ride using center point AF-C the Canon will easily track a using my 24-70Lmk2. The fuji is bottlenecked with the lens you are using. My Fuji 16mm, 10-24mm using 24mm and even my 55-200 using my X-t2 center point constant AF I felt like smashing the camera against the wall trying to track my daughter on a spinning amusement park ride. Didn't matter what constant AF setting on my fuji body !!!! I'll need to invest in the 16-55 or 40-150mm f/2.8 zooms to maximize AF speed.

Sunburst or flash burst from remote flash the Fuji just has a different look. I just have much more preference to Canon lenses creating cleaner sharper burst images.

This is one reason why I find it extremely difficult to even consider selling my mirrored bodies.

The 5dmk4 has been a pleasant improvement over my 5d3.

I did my first football game of the year last Thursday. Pittsburg State University Gorillas vs University of Central Missouri Mules. This was my first time using the 5D for sports, and loved it. It performed well, and did great in the low light of the less than stellar Division 2 lights. Here are a few photos.

And for fun, I did a 7 photo sequence of the first catch of the game.

If memory serves me correctly, you were a B-2 pilot. It must have been amazing to get this shot. Thank you for sharing, and thank you for your service.

Very best, Jim

Interesting. XT20 w/ the slow focusing 35 1.4 captured amusement spinning ride just fine but this was mid day sunlight also.

Thank you. No longer flying the B-2. I've moved onto the National Guard, flying KC-135s. I get to see much more of the world now, and it's way more laid back.
