It is a bit good isn't it! To be fair the Mk2 is better but at a price!

Just aquired one, 2nd hand at sub £2k with 116k actuations which is a tad higher than I would have liked but thereyago.
Absolutely love it even though it's like carrying a breeze block around my neck, and have let my 7D mkii go but keeping the 5DS.
AF is sublime as is IQ.
However silent mode is a laugh, imagine dropping marbles into a plastic bucket!

"However silent mode is a laugh, imagine dropping marbles into a plastic bucket!" I would add From a Great Height! Put it on a sturdy tripod and Bird Hides make great sounding boards! In normal (machine gun) mode the racket is comical and upsets everyone! However I have yet to disturb any bird or mammal with mine.

When I first got mine I thought the noise would be an issue, well it is with humans but nothing else seems to care - though I did get a dirty look from a Vixen a while back. She wasn't bothered and didn't move off - probably just concerned about noise pollution? Anyway if a Fox will tolerate it at 10-15 meters in machine gun mode then it is fine by me! I don't take it to weddings!

So, just curious, but what would I get, other than an empty wallet, for the v2? I don't do video. Grey market bodies currently show a difference of £500 ish which isn't huge.

The 1DX2 is simply a better camera than the 1DX. It is better in every important criteria - namely ISO, AF, speed, frame rate, buffer depth etc etc .........

I can't comment on the video features as I have only owned my 1DX for 3 1/2 years so it is a bit early to explore useless functions and (even worse!) I would have to look at the Manual!!!!!!!!!!

I moved from the 1D4 to the 1DX and it was a very significant upgrade. However the 1DX2 was just a better 1DX with a big hike in the price! It is certainly a better camera but not enough better to justify the extra pennies for me. For others it certainly is - just not me.

I've always wanted to play with the 1d series, is this camera too loud for weddings? I could have it for $1900 to my door with 70K clicks. Is it a good deal?

It is probably too loud; it could be rather distracting to wedding participants.

I agree with Bob.

Wildlife just ignores it but the 1DX can be positively rude at weddings!

I have a chance to purchase D1x for $2700 with 150K clicks. Is this out of line? It is from a local dealer that checks out everything before they sell.

IF I had the $100 more that might work.

Given the exchange rate that doesn't sound out of line but I am not familiar with US second hand prices.
