I was hired by a fashion stylist to take portfolio images with plant themed apparel (some of which I removed in post). We had booked a studio for a Sunday. I confirmed with the studio. Everything was all set. Turns out that Sunday was a holiday. Not a major holiday, but one where many businesses were closed. Regardless, the studio scheduled the date. We get to the studio, and the doors were locked. We were banging on the door. I called the studio owner repeatedly. No answer. I finally decided to pursue a Plan B. Our model's mother, had a neighbor one hour north of Ft Lauderdale (in West Palm Beach), who happened to be an interior designer. She said that his backyard was killer. So we made the trek up to West Palm, and there were all sorts of interesting bamboo, plants, etc. These are two of the shots from that shoot. Male agency model. He is repped by four model agencies in the US. Garrin Evan Studios

His cruise ship docked in Miami and he was in the area for four hours before his ship was to depart. Prior to the shoot, I prepared a call sheet with multiple shoot locations, based on reference images provided by the model. This photo was very impromptu, in that we walked down a street in Miami Beach (Española Way it's called), and I asked a restaurant owner if we could get a few shots of my model leaning against the bar. I wanted moody light, so his female friend held my 22" beauty w/honeycomb grid and strobe (on a monopod), about 6-7 feet away from the model on camera right. There were a number of tables/chairs we had to clear out of the way that were obstructing my shot. I stood directly in front of the model. I knew I wanted to capture the ambient light of the bar, so I slowed down my shutter speed accordingly. I was happy with the end result which is essentially a loop lighting pattern as can be seen by the shadow to camera left of my model's nose. Garrin Evan Studios
