Picture of my life really, sloping horizon, not sure which way to go, dry sky and brown grasses...

What's your experience with the e.g.-s vs the stock screen? Planning to use it on a Rokinon 24 and Nikon 50 1.2.

Not the best images due to my reluctance to push iso any further but I'm happy just to find this bower, if only to document this species.

Male bowerbirds weave intricate display areas (or bowers) out of twigs Satin Bowerbirds are renowned for decorating their bowers with all manner of blue objects collected from the vicinity of the bower and sometimes from farther afield. These odds and ends may comprise feathers from parrots, flowers, seed-pods and fruits, butterfly wings and artificial items such as ball-point pens, matchboxes, string, marbles and pieces of glass. Because of this, bowerbirds are often thought of as the most advanced of all birds. A bower is not a nest. It is an attractive 'avenue', used by male bowerbirds to entice a female. When they are not feeding, the males spend much of their time perched in the bower, calling to potential mates and warning off potential rivals.

Ok, here's my contribution to evidence for the 6D being

a. good for sports
b. good in poor light

Some pictures at the zoo. Ai servo with middle point is acceptable for Hummingbirds. Love the auto ISO and high ISO capabilities (coming from a 1dmk3).

Taken a while back at a Savannah art museum with the 6D at 1/50 sec, f/5.6, iso 2000 using the canon ef 17-40 lens.

Nearest thing we have to a hummingbird - you know when they're about because of the unique sound of their wings (a purring sound, but in short bursts). This is an outstanding capture, as they never keep still - doubt I'll ever get a photo of one nearly as good! In fact, they move so quickly I doubt that they ever get 'eatern'

Thanks Alec. Yes, I've got a series of them to post but couldn't wait to get this one up. I sat for 1.5 hrs watching then dart about and just hoping for one to hover, but it didn't happen

I actually sold my 5D3mklll and 70-300L to fund the longer reach of the 7Dmkll and 100-400mkll. There were times when I was kicking myself for doing so (losing full frame for use in low light) but I'm actually quite glad now that I did so. Managed to save a few bucks (I'm on basic flat rate pension) and was feeling rather self indulgent at investing back into full frame, but despite my love for the longer reach of the former, and the fact that the combo is amazing and I will never part with it, in reality, in the dark rain forest, I actually believe the 6D outshines the 5Dmklll and offers more opportunities than my 7Dmkll combo.. It focuses in the dark much quicker and more accurately than either, and even having to crop in relation to what I would have with an apsc sensor, the images are cleaner and crisper. I could never achieve these results at this high iso with either. Have to give credit to the lens though because none of these were taken at faster the 1/100sec and they're all at full stretch, wide open at 5.6 of the lens at 400mm
