I had the pleasure of shooting my first wedding last week; and it happened to be in Hawaii where I live. The lighting was a challenge as it was around 1600 and the sun was strongly backlighting the ceremony, but I had a new AD200 that I was able to use balance everything out.

Gear was a pair of 5D series bodies, a 24-70 2.8L gen 1, and a 16-35L F4, a nifty fifty, and a 580EXII and an AD200. Comments/suggestions/criticisms are welcome, thanks!

You've got some fantastic photos here especially as it was your first wedding.

Great captures. Just 2 small things. #2, the photo gear is in shot. Either crop or clone it out. Would've been nice to see more of the bride's face. #3/4 has chromatic aberration. A quick tick of the box in LR or ACR will get rid of it. Well done.

Thanks, i appreciate it. It was a highly untraditional ceremony (no parents, bridal party, etc) and the whole day only took about 4 hours to include the drive to the beach. I did what I could with what the time I had...

Thanks for the tips; i'll go back and take care of the CA on the one phote. The gear wasn't mine in the shot, the bride had a gopro/gimbal in a messenger bag that she brought on the plane. Should I clone that out? Not really sure.

As far as the brides face, you're absolutely right i would have loved to see her face. Unfortunately that's what I got, but i'll keep the tip in mind next time.

The full gallery is here, thanks for looking. And i didn't mention it before, but the bride was my sister. I'm stationed on Oahu and she flew out here with her husband for a quick ceremony.

I'd crop it out. Spoils a great picture.
