Thanks for the response. I agree on the frame rate and battery life; mine was purchased with only 4k on the shutter, and coming from a 1DIII it is still a great camera. I also got to use a 1DXII at Canon in Costa Mesa and it was a beast! But I went and ordered the 5d4 from canon yesterday, so we will see how it works. Anybody have any recommendations on use of the camera-AF settings, custom functions, etc? any issues you all have found with the camera to be on the lookout for? Mine is a refurb unit with canon 1-yr warranty so just trying to get a heads up on this.

Very nice. Congrats!!! I'll bet you love it.

Congrats on the purchase! I think most of us would say that the camera "just works." Set up the buttons and custom menus however you like, and then go take some photos using your typical settings. The 5D4 will do whatever you ask of it. :-)

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Does anybody have oil splatter issues with their 5D4? I've sent the camera to Canon for cleaning twice already and it's dirty within a few shots! Won't come off with a rocket blower either

I have, it even threw oil on the focusing screen. Canon replaced it under warranty... although they made a point to say it was not and could not have been the camera as the source of the oil. Now, im not in the habit of squirting oil into my camera...

I had this issue and had to send the camera back a couple of times. Like Solyad they tried to tell me that it could not be lubricant or oil from the camera. That was till I told the agent to familiarize himself with page 457 of the user manual. It states clearly that internal lubricant splatter can be a source of hard to remove spots and the recommended remedy is Canon service. They cleaned it for the 3rd time and I haven't had an issue since.
