Budget?
Total weight needed?
Ballhead or Gimbal?
Purpose of the tripod for your uses?
Specific material required (aluminum, carbon fiber, etc)?
Partial to a brand?
Height needed?
Prefer flip locks or twist locks?

There's more to ask but that will at least get this started...

Very best,

Here's a start to give you perspective:

++++++++++++

And now something more reasonable for what you're probably doing:

I have the previous version. One of my best photographic investments: has performed like a champ for 8 years, outdoors and indoors, in broiling summer weather and -40 degree winterland. I'd buy it again and again.

No denying that RRS make great tripods! Personally I prefer Gitzo - but that is mainly because they cost much less here and they make a wider range. This is, however splitting hairs. Reasonably looked after either brand will probably outlast us!

In either range a 2 series is a nice compromise between stability/rigidity and weight, just choose the model that suits your needs best.
