Can I keep my monitor connected to 2 computers?

OH! Good point about the TV! I've got several inputs going into the TV; never thought about that.

Another option if you need to use both computers at once is to connect both monitors to one PC and remote into the other PC from there. I do this sometimes even when the other computer has it's own keyboard, mouse, and monitor within arm's reach. It's just easier to have one PC's screen in a window on my desktop and control both from one keyboard/mouse.

Higher windows models will have remote desktop, you can remote log into another PC.

You really want a software solution, I've been using multiple PC's for nearly a decade now, and Synergy has been the best solution hands down.

In addition to Windows Remote Desktop (the computer you're remoting into must be Pro or higher), there are free solutions like VNC that you install on both computers and can work within your network. I use TeamViewer which is free for personal use.
