So the 50/2 confirms focus in low light noticeably better than the 23/2? That's a nugget of info that's been escaping me.

yes..

That's been my experience so far..

6-8 feet ?

don't remember exactly but something like that .. yes , if I had the rapid box setup typically as close as possible .. even , if like you said slightly in the frame..

but with the 360 and only the outer sheet of the rapid box draped over it .. if I brought it any closer he ended up with crazy hotspots.. so I decided on further back but a bit too contrasty looking

Did you have the little metal deflector on in the rapid box? That $20 gizmo is what made the rapid box for me, with out it I would get hotspots too.

no .. see I guess I didn't explain myself right... I brought the rapid box with me.. but couldn't use it
because I had missing pieces...

so you know the outer diffusion that gets velcroed on..

well all I had was that draped over the 360..:lol: .......:-(

I had a grid go 'missing' from bag (the modifier it is stored with it). Turned up to do the shoot and needed the grid to kill the spill. Not a happy photographer. Turns out it was packed up after a shoot and the grid was not put back in the bag, I tend to keep associated parts in with the modifiers. My fault for not checking properly during packing but thats why I keep things the way I do.

It is very frustrating buy can also be fun trying to solve the challenge. I once grabbed a guy in a white shirt to use as a reflector so I could bounce my flash off him, made for a fun part of the wedding for many guests.

No my son, who's 6, has been playing soccer since he was 4. There's 2 seasons a year, Spring and Fall. This year he moved up to the youth league, and the soccer field is 3x bigger than what he used to play on.

I've been doing ok with (at first the XT1, and now the XPro2) the 56mm, and then later got the 90mm for a little extra reach, getting action shots.

Now with this larger field, I'm falling a little short. So my wife asked what would be a good lens to get. I told her probably the 50-140 (even though I'm not a big fan of zooms, at some point, you have to compromise).

She pretty much gave me the green light to go ahead and get one, as this is how t's going to be, and the fields are just going to keep getting bigger and bigger.

You could chance your arm and say you need the 200/2.8 also

Nice!
I just picked up a 50-140 from a local shop. Amazing deal in basically brand new condition so I couldn't pass on it. There was a 90 there too but I have been eyeing this longer zoom for a while.
