I think this is a northern parula. Corrections welcome. A tough little guy to get sitting still.....

This little guy was in our yard visiting the stream. He is on a chewed beaver perch. Lighting was tough with a bit of noise but always nice to see a new species in the yard.

Sort-of-wild urban mallard, but by golly he's a handsome one.

Technique I have also heard off with locked off long lenses is to place a 1-2 KG bean bad on top of the lens to help damp the vibrations. Not tried this myself.

Interesting, although I am afraid this might cause some drift. I have been holding the lens from the bottom, which is similar. I will buy a bag of beans and see what it does for me.

A Reed Warbler I think (please correct me if I'm wrong). They're always deep in the reeds but they're not actually very shy. I was very close to him here.

Had to look again - you so nailed the focus - spot on, either side by a bit and the reeds would have cought the focus.

A flame Robin from my recent ski trip to Falls Creek (Vic). Detail is a bit lacking however as I hardly see these guys anymore anything is better than nothing :) (I think they are currently classified as threatened)
