Red admiral butterfly close ups and video

This red admiral butterfly visited the garden every day for about a week recently mainly feeding on some rotting pear.

Nice, does the pear still attract if you leave it for just a few hours? (I can't leave fruit out on the bird table overnight because of my wife's fear of rats).

Davholla - I don't think fresh fruit is as attractive to butterflies- also needs to be in a sunny position. If you have urban foxes I don't think you need worry about rats.

Thanks for that, sadly urban foxes and rats can live in the same place very well. Unfortunately as the rat runs I am not that far from places with lots of restaurants and some food waste in the streets so there is a reservoir of them.
