This epitomises a British summer day, Jeff. Trouble is that we have not had many of them this year!

It seems oddly dark on the sides... did you do that in post?
Partially. My polarizer did some of it, and some vignette was added. The more I look at it the more I think that it definitely needs to be pulled back a bit.
The mesas of the Blaine Escarpment, a byproduct of the many rivers and seas that used to cover this part of the state, rise above the flat prairie of Northwest Oklahoma capped with gypsum rich in selenite crystals that gave them the name Gloss Mountains. Drove out there before sunrise and got there before the park caretaker got there to open the gate into the park and enjoyed having the entire place to myself. After leaving the park I drove along a dirt road that wound its way through the mesas and was able to get a few more photos.[IMAGE'S LINK: https://flic.kr/p/YVPZhC]IMG_7324 by David Covarrubias, on Flickr [IMAGE'S LINK: https://flic.kr/p/YVPVho]IMG_7331-HDR by David Covarrubias, on Flickr [IMAGE'S LINK: https://flic.kr/p/YYxqxT]IMG_7351 by David Covarrubias, on Flickr [IMAGE'S LINK: https://flic.kr/p/XXj5yr]IMG_7356 by David Covarrubias, on Flickr [IMAGE'S LINK: https://flic.kr/p/YUkZgS]IMG_7367 by David Covarrubias, on Flickr [IMAGE'S LINK: https://flic.kr/p/YYxgNi]IMG_7379 by David Covarrubias, on Flickr

Dallas Divide. Aspen leaves actually sort of dull in this part of the state, most of the color in these shots is from the scrub oak.
