You could probably tell by my avatar I like medicine men of the ancients and petroglyphs.
I do have a history of teaching Boy Scouts and Explorer posts common wild edible plants
and wild medicinals. I took a liking to pharmacognosy in pharmacy school and graduate school
and continue to add to my knowledge base through the overall studies of bushcraft.

So we were very excited to make it to McKee Springs Petroglyph site in Dinosaur Nat. Monument. That
monument made #280 in the U.S. park system for me. Poof loved Dinosaur way more than Yellowstone
and we've both expressed a desire to return---I think it was the lack of crowds overall.

So this image for Eriet! Who I know is blessed with 'glyphs in his area and makes it challenge to locate
and image them. Funny, but while exploring Dinosour I'd find them before Poof and she'd say excitedly
'where where is it!' This beyond the clearly obvious ones like this one linked-

Oh and I am spending next weekend in a heavy Petro site with an Archaeologist that has some he wants me to shoot

Some friends of mine were curious about the lens I used to take that last moon shot I posted so I just took this quicky to show them. I thought I'd post it here too.

Anyone else running the latest photoshop CC on OSX High Sierra having trouble with color FX? PS crashes while rendering.

I hope we haven't reached the end of the line with Google Nik

Speaking of the FE90, thanks again Rantercsr :)
But it was 42F last night so the macro'ing is almost over.
We went out this evening hoping for something, probably my last
mason bee of the year. Got two shots of four of them working; here's one-

TTS (typical tourist shot)/classic shot/shot every one gets, but we take it anyway because despite the thousands of other shots
just like it you still want your own. So here's mine (really looks better at FredMiranda where I can post it big :(

An image from this weekend. I actually got out with my camera on four separate occasions this weekend, that's gotta be some sort of record for me.

Another one from this weekend. Apparently there's a mini slot canyon right here in S.D. Who'da thunk it?

Promise not to load the thread with Swans but did shoot them for almost 3 hours, so swans alone over 2000 pics.
Here is another take on Cygnus; I'll post one more up someday I'm working on, then no more :)
Interesting to me because really zoomed in they are not so white ;)
Another observation, and Gene you have the FE100-400GM and 2.0 TC so your thoughts on this too, but I think with
the 2.0 the FE100400 does excellent. I think Sony made history again with a zoom that can take a 2.0 well, heck most zooms
can't even take 1.4TC and flourish, and if they do ok then you've lost all kinds of focus points-not so with the Sony.

Was my favorite of all sony lenses i owned... not most used only because of it's focal length but certainly my favorite.

If i get a sony camera again, its definitely a must have for me!

You may recall my commenting that the Sony FE 90G macro lens is one of my favorites and I haven't changed that opinion since. I haven't used the other lens you mention but I would give the FE 90 a big thumbs up.

Thanks both. I just ordered a FE 90 just now. I can already feel myself falling into the still life/macro rabbit hole :D. Using you as inspiration Gene, wanting to try some of the product type stuff for myself, hopefully it will get me out of this photography rut. The 90 should also be ideal for when my daughter arrives. Just need to sell the Batis 85 now which isn’t something I was really wanting to do but can’t justify both to myself at the moment and I have the 55 which has always felt quite close
