The Sacramento branch of Mike's Cameras held an event at the Sacramento Zoo and for 2 hours I was able to join the ranks of 1DXII users. It was hard turning it back in at the Canon booth.

Know exactly how you feel, had a similar experience recently at a motor racetrack day... very hard to give back especially with a 500/4 attached to it.

It may take me a year or two, but I decided after that event that I will get one. Not that my current 7DII is shabby, but the 1DXII was just amazing

Had to choose between blurred rotors or skydivers. Chose the former.

really awesome stuff

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Can't beat the baby pictures just posted, but Canadian Thanksgiving is this weekend, yes 5 weeks before US Thanksgiving, and it is way too early if you live in Toronto (this year), but my youngest daughter and I have developed a tradition of going out and picking red & orange Maple Leafs and decorating the Thanksgiving table with them and using the red leafs, with a gold or silver pen / marker, to create name tags for all our family dinner. Our weather this year in Toronto, was a much cooler wet summer - but has now turned into a very hot dry fall - and leaves turning red has been massively delayed. We went out looking, found only a few - but I had my 1DXii and the 100L.

The first picture is what we should have found - the rest of the pictures are from our 'summer' walk today.

My wife and I love our nation's protectors. We have two family members who are Blackhawk pilots in the Army. One is currently in Afghanistan (3rd tour). The other is headed for a 3rd tour, but his will be in Eastern Europe. The sacrifices both of them have made on behalf of our country makes me feel small. They are amazing. Thanks for sharing the photos.

Image editing ok; C&C always welcome.

Nice. Reminds me a bit of some of Robert Farber's work.
