Thanks for all the flash advice guys, think I am going to pick up a x1t-s and a couple of tt350s. It will mainly be for around the house so the power will be fine I think. I have a Nissin i40 but looking for more functionality and the ability to change the power from a controller so the godox fits the bill. Plus like vinz says if I also pick up a x1t-F further down the road I can share the flashes with my fuji

That shot is so clean and detailed, that I can smell that Bison without trying real hard. (it needs a bath)

Got a flash question for you guys using OCF. I know it’s been discussed a lot before but I didn’t pay attention at the time and now can’t find it. For OFC on my a7rii am I best going the Godox route? Is there a trigger/controller that allows me to change the manual settings on the remote flashes? Does godox allow wireless TTL?

Thanks in advance

Edit - being doing a bit of reading online. It seems the x1t-s trigger allows remote adjustment of flash power which is what I was after. Just can’t decide between the 350 or the larger 685. Any advice on this is appreciated

If you're looking for something specifically for OCF, why not look into the AD200? More power, about the same form factor when carrying it as a speedlight, and the ability to use it as a bare bulb flash.

I had a look at the ad200 there as didn’t know what it was. For the same price as 1x ad200 I can purchase 3x tt350 flashes and a x1t-s controller/trigger. I’ll stick to the cheaper option as it’s not something I’m heavily into, Thanks for the suggestion though but it’s beyond my needs

HSS with my daughter on Homecoming night with my A6500. I think I had the flash power a little too high as I see a chin shadow. Love the catch light in her eyes though.

Shutter too low for HSS maybe?

It was not very light out (Cloudy and in a botanical garden with plenty of trees) so I had to drop the SS to get enough ambient. May not have needed flash at all but had not time to try different things. You know how that goes, kids wanting to get it over with so they can get to homecoming and away from their parents!

Oh yeah, I just noticed your SS....1/125. Flash likely defaulted out of HSS giving you a boost in power.

Beautiful. I'd love to shoot some Bison with my FE 100-400mm.

HSS is usually used to kill the ambient(make the background darker or balance) using the shutterspeed to keep the aperture wide open for the bokeh.
