I can't seem to get use to the RRS BH-40's Lever Release Clamp

I have had the BH-40 with the lever release for a while now. I haven't used it much due to work. Although in the time that I have used the ballhead, there's something about the lever release clamp that doesn't seem natural to me. Is it possible that I'm using it wrong? Are there vidoes online demonstrating how to effectively use the lever release clamp? My previous ballhead was the Markins Q3T, but that had the screw knob clamp. I'm starting to regret not getting the BH-40 with the screw knob clamp.

I have the BH-55 ballhead with the lever release and have had no issues. Is it possible that your Arca-Swiss plate is a bit smaller than other plates and therefore the clamp isn't holding it as tightly? What specifically doesn't seem natural to you?

I, too, would like to know what it is, specifically, that doesn't "feel right" to you.

Any informative follow-up to this thread would be appreciated.

"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

If your plate is a bit larger than RRS plates (the direction that the jaws of the clamp move) it CAN feel a bit 'unnatural', but RRS plates (and others that use similar dimensions) are not at all needing of 'user adjustment period'. Whose plate are you clamping in the RRS QR?
