Photoshop is crashing or hanging when I batch process more than 100 sporting event photos at a time...

My sports workflow has been pretty standard....
Shoot 5DII @ L-Jpeg....
Download to MACbook...
pick my best shots and give 4 or 5 stars in AdobeBridge...
Copy the top shot into a work folder...
Crop the shots....
Pick a couple representative shots and fix em in PhotoShop CS6...
Make an Action based on how I want them fixed...
Run BATCH to apply the action to all the photos in the WORK folder...

This is where I run into trouble... the batch begins and slowly churns through the photos until the computer freezes or PhotoShop crashes...

Any advice how to fix this?

It wasn't always like this, I have had the same camera and photoshop CS6 since the MacBook was new. It used to run through 300-400 shots in 1-1.5 hours now it is much slower and it crashes as well....

After a crash my new action disappears (very annoying) and the batch dialouge box reverts back to older sources and must be reset completely...

This has been happening to me now for a few months and has made what used to be an efficient workflow hell.

I am also open to hearing other sports workflow ideas...

Thanks

-Chris

Could you be running out of RAM or space on the hard drive? Or recently upgraded OS?

Hard drive is about 1/3 open and the RAM is 8gb same as always when it was working well...

I have updated os as they arrive... whats my choice really....

I will try looking through the crash log to see if it identifies anything... I dont use the Extensis font manager...

Anyone know where adobe cs6 keeps its crash logs?

Could be signs of a possible hard drive failure. Check your hard drive to see how many bad sectors it has. I used to have issues too batch processing raw converted tif files and to PSD file. I was running with WD Green hard drives and later with the WD Blue hard drives. All of my problems went away after upgrading to the WD Black hard drive. Of course, I assume your MacBook is running on a SATA hard drive.... Or is it SSD instead???
