That is quite pricy for its specs. The processor runs about $300 and, as of this month, is outdated. The 8700k released early October and has 2 more cores than the 7700k. I would try to find something with that processor, but it is scarce right now.

BH photo sells Asus and Cyberpower which will offer more bang for the buck. If you have a Frys or Microcenter nearby, you could save even more on a prebuilt.

Thanks for taking the time to respond. It's been years since I've built my own and at this point in my life, would rather buy 'off the shelf' and save myself the potential headaches.

Thanks too for the heads up regarding the performance of the processor and the computer's price point. I'll look into what B&H offers and if you have any recommendations, feel free to let me know that too. I don't live anywhere near a Frys or Microcenter unfortunately.

I'm afraid it's been so long that a lot of the newer terminology also escapes me.

Good point to wait for the Holiday sales.

Vinz isn't it funny so many dissed the PZ16-50. I kept mine and love it. It's just a no-brainer for walk-around.
Hey, while I'm at it, Poof shot with the 16mm pancake this past weekend.
So many denounce these two lenses but I don't see too many shots from them in Nat-Geo!

Yahi agree. It’s really a very sharp lens. It looks and feels so cheap but it’s good.

Sony really gets the award for the optical quality of their more affordable glass. A lot of it is accomplished by leaving distortion corrections uncorrected optically and allowing it to be corrected in camera for JPEG and the EVF and via lens profiles for raw. The penalty for doing so is pretty minimal and it's a worthwhile trade-off

Thanks Robert. Those waters are usually a good place to be on a boat...last night they were chopping pretty good, it was cold, and really windy...my fingers were numb when we got done...
