Congrats to Eddie, beautiful baby.

Love the image Travis, wish I have such eye for composition.

Anyone in here shooting with the Sony 70-200 F4 and pleased with it? I am missing my Canon 70-200 2.8 DEARLY from when i shot with a 5d3. I would love to go FE 70-200 2.8G but since i am not shooting weddings anymore i simply cannot stomach the cost.

I primarily shoot cars, but want something good for portrait work too. I currently have the 50 1.8, 16-35 F4 G and Rokinon 135 F2

Shooting on an a7ii so it needs to be E mount or reasonable lens to adapt (which i don't know anything about to be honest)

I would love to have the 70-200 2.8, but not accepting the price, considering the vast alternatives.

Considering how good the 135A has been for me, I dont have much issue adapting large glass.

I’ve had it and very much liked it...it’s on par with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS. I sold mine for reasons that have nothing to do with performance.

I thought the f4 version was great, small, lighter and plenty sharp and fast.

A couple I am working on for a client...would like to feedback...WB was tricky as hell...and then on top of that, the two sides of this model home are decorated in opposing color pallets...but the web/marketing guy wants the color tones to be similar in the final output images! So I am trying to get the cooler one to match the warmer one...warmer side is the top.

Looks good Travis. Gene and David already provided some awesome feedback. The compositions are good. Just need to fix some color cast issues. I take it these were blended brackets. Lightroom HDR? I'm working through similar issues on a home I shot last Friday; however, I'm not using an HDR program primarily for blending the exposures. I'm using luminosity masking to manually blend the brackets. I'm considering getting an Xplor600 and mixing flash with ambient to make editing a bit more efficient. I've been watching some YouTube tutorials and the results using flambient (flash + ambient) look good.

do either of you have sample pics using it? I would be interested to see the bokeh it produces at f4 200mm or so.

No HDR blending, single image edits on both.

Ok thanks for confirming. I keep forgetting about using the SR app in the field for situations like this where you want to preserve highlight detail and then bring up the shadows in post without incurring much noise. Then I could work off a single exposure which make things easier when shooting interiors. I have another shoot on Friday on a commercial building that I will try. I will shoot my normal brackets and then also grab an exposure with the SR app that is underexposed.

I'd grab two AD200's in lieu of the xplor 600. I think the xplor 600 would be overkill for RE most of the time and you'd be better served by having two lights that you can place at different locations. If you happen to need a lot of power, you can use dual head....or use my bootleg method of sticking the ad200 inside the modifer itself. The flexibility of these little lights are awesome...I just added another.

Another upside of the ad200 is that you can easily use a speedlight gel to color correct them. This is pretty key when you're mixing flash with ambient light as uncorrected speedlights create nasty color casts when you expose for the ambient. It's one of the few things that is easier to correct in the field than in post.

Good points Carlo. Thanks for the feedback. I will check them out. Any light stands that you would recommend?

Do any of the YouTube videos/reviews look at canon adapted performance on the a7riii yet? Curious to see if it handles them like the a9 does
