You could be right Eddie. However, I don’t believe all of them retain the last focal length setting after powering down the camera. I could be wrong though.

Sorry Alfredo, I misread that detail. I’m not sure if they do or not

Scratching my head, bubble wrap is so cheap...you know the big houses by it by the gigantic rolls.

Packaging has been odd lately from all retailers. Look how Amazon shipped my replacement batteries, sent them feedback about it then a few days later my wife orders makeup and same thing. It’s no big deal since it’s not fragile but not a good use of resources.

Amazon is poor in the UK too with packaging (i.e. too much of it). I order a lot from Amazon (since getting amazon prime and free next day delivery its too easy!) and the packaging is nearly always oversized. Its always a massive box with some brown paper stuffed in to fill the space then the small item inside. Such a waste of resources and when you think of the output of amazon is frightening.

It's probably cheaper for amazon or whoever is selling to buy a bunch of standard size boxes than to by a wide array of different sized ones. The the box for the wafer batteries and make up is ridiculous though.

i tried the Sony 85 F1.8 of my friend and I fell in love with it by how light, small, quiet and seems faster in focusing. it's really sharp too. i might sell my GM, buy the 1.8 and use the other money for something else.

Some initial test shots from the FE 16-35 GM. These have some basic editing done in LR. I was impressed with the overall sharpness of the lens even at wide open. The center of the frame is very sharp. It's right up there with the Loxia 21 and Batis 18. The corners are sufficiently sharp as well. I was also pleasantly surprised at the nice bokeh from the lens wide open and how close you can get to your subject..

First outing with the FE 100-400. Wow is this lens sharp! I'm very happy with this purchase!
And I'll be on a trip to Page, AZ and Bryce Canyon in 2 weeks. Perfect timing.

That 16-35GM looks good too. Makes me consider the idea of ditching some more primes and going with the convenience of zooms...

Sony A7RII and a bunch of lenses.

Picked up a 70-200 f2.8 tamron VC for a bargain, the end of GM searching for now. I was shooting my 24-240 indoors during the day, thought I could get away with the light levels..... Boy was I wrong. That lens is strictly outdoors.... Focus good to crap at the long end, low light

i'm going to replace my 85GM to Batis 85 for a few reasons

- silent focusing
- faster focusing
- better zeiss color
- better contrast
- small
- lighter
- zero CA
- OSS

i don't care about the better bokeh on the 85GM, only co-photographers usually notice the difference. i'm yet to hear customers complaining about bokeh. 2/3 stop light difference is also a non issue. Like Dani Diamond, I underexpose 2/3 as long as I am in ISO100-400 to avoid blownout skies.

I’m currently selling my batis 85 if you are interested. Great copy in mint condition
