I'd love to buy a 6Dmk2 to replace my 80D. That would be like an upgraded full frame sensor with 80D specs ...minus degrade in max shutter speed.

6D and mk2 version is "smallish" for a mirrored body.

Please use an X-T2 on a low lit dance floor with flash and compare it to a 5dmk3/6D or even a Rebel series with a external speedlight using the red focus assist grid beam. You'll instantly realize there's a MASSIVE difference in AF performance. I have full confidence in Canon in that low light performance. I do not and will not use my Fuji X-T2 for that type of situation as I get substantially more hit rate with Canon in low light.

Casual photography the 6dmk2 is expensive right now but it's truly a very good camera "for what it is".

I am definitely buying one so I will get first hand experience:) I am not going all in *LOL* Time will tell. I am sure you will enjoy your 6DMKII :)

I had the same conundrum when I went shopping last year. I got the 5DIII, which at the time was about 1,000£ more expensive, which is/was a LOT. I was mainly concerned with the AF points, the 5D just has so many. As it turns out, I use the central one (which I think the 6D offers very well) 99.999% of the time. However, far more than anything else, and I've seen it come up here, I DO use the 2 x card slots every single day, so for me, that's a lifesaver on long trips.

I don't regret it at all, love the thing.

I have owned the 6Dc since it came out. The 6DII offers nothing I didn't get for 1/2 the price in my 80D. To upgrade from what I already have, I'd have to go to the 5DIV. If I sell my 6D for $900 and my 80D for $750, I'd only have to spend about $1200 to get a 5DIV, which comes with all the features I already own.

Go Fuji. Love my Xt-2. Especially for travel. It's a dream.

That being said I'm keeping my 6D.

Ended up with the 5dmk4 instead of the 6Dmk2. 5dmk4 is lighter and hand grip seems a tad smaller than the 5dmk3. I'll have to say for pure high iso performance and image quality I'd take the 5dmk4 over my Fuji X-t2. Please note this is comments from a guy that really loves Fuji render image quality.

The more I look at the choices between 5dmk3 and 6D I'd say the 5dmk3 is a no brainer. You can throw a lot more brutal conditions (fast moving and low light) at the 5dmk3 and it will deliver better results than the 6d.

If your the kind of guy that shoots in very bright conditions you will appreciate the 1/8000 of the 5dmk3. I was using my 5dmk3 and Fuji X-t2 at a 3 day event car show and my 5dmk3 easily went over 1/4000 alot and my 5d3 did NOT effect my creative control. My Fuji X-t2 I was hammer shots at f/1.2 with my 56mm and the electronic shutter was FANTASTIC for slow moving/static subjects. If I had a 6D this would have effected my creative control hitting a wall at 1/4000. Often I would easily hit 1/6000 even with low iso settings with my Canon.

At this moment I don't know what to do with my 80D..... currently it's my backup ...backup.

The 5dmk4 seems like my 80D on serious steroids with much better video quality. I'm just finding all of my lenses seem to produce much better image quality over my 5dmk3 when I use the 5dmk4.

For my shooting style (mainly stills )the 6d works for me fine. But for travelling i would even want to go smaller, so fuji or sony mirrorless would be my recommendation.

I have 5DmkIII, 6D and XT1 and I would pick XT2 anytime over Canon for travels.

A few months later followup.

I found a 6D with 24-70mm f4 Lens a few weeks ago. Picked it up at a great price (eBay discounts are a wonderful thing) and got back into the world of photos. 2 days ago, I put the 24-70 up on eBay and sold it a day later at also a great price. Today, I picked up a Canon 35mm 1.4 and have spent the afternoon getting comfortable with it again.

It's good to be back.

Wow I am kind of in the same boat I have a 6d but thinking of upgrading to the 5d my iii or go to Sony 7rii

That would only be an upgrade in AF and other support features, and build. For IQ, the 6D is the superior camera, at all ISOs.

If we're talking about high-key exposures and ETTR at low and medium ISOs, the 6D2 is better yet (but worse in deep shadows and very high ISOs than the 6D, but as good or slightly better than the 5D3).
