Not often you see one of these drifting through Silverstone's Stowe corner.

Nice shot and yes, that is somewhat rare. :-)

Equally unusual is this 1995 Jaguar Vanden Plas that runs SCCA Solo (autocross) events here in San Diego. Not your normal competition car.

^something doesn't feel quite right with that one...the blur seems to be leading the rider and some parts are sharp and then blurred...the hard edge on the riders leg...just not feeling that one...just my two pesos. was it shot with flash and the freeze is on the front side of the exposure? trying to figure it out...

TRhoads thank you for the critique , always welcomed and when it comes from someone of your caliber it's even better.
No flash or photoshop was used but when you shoot really slow shutter speeds it has this effect. The lines were created because the movement of the camera was not all the way matched with the speed of the bike, in my case i moved my camera faster.
Personally i got over the sharpness thing and i always look at the feeling but what works for one doesn't for another .

I find blurs like the above fascinating. Notice the hard edge along the rider's right side, yet the front wheel's and front fender's hard edges are on the left. So many different things can happen when shooting with slow shutter speeds that often the results can be surprisingly complex to analyze.

... too fast!
Maybe an extreme picture of a Moto-Gp bike - only a silhouette, nothing concrete except the fire fire-extinguishers.

Yes, indeed fast, however in myopinion the final effect is great. Very well done this photo.

Surely its just he way the shutter moves across the sensor - the camera speed (Or bike in this case) wasn't constant so the bit that remained sharp moved effectively.
