I know which one you would rather have. I debated getting a M7 a few years ago. I settled on a Zeiss Ikon and 2 lenses for less than the price of just a M7 body.

Wish I could shoot film but clients and lack of space for a darkroom makes it tough. Even if I could shoot film I would probably still have an M 10 and an MM. There is nothing digital that compares if you want a true rangefinder. And I do.

I will leave the Leica's to those who can truly use one artistically (that's you A), and to all the others who have no clue as to what real art is...

Me, I'd love a Nikon D750 and a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 G2 Nikon mount, but it ain't making me do stupid things like buying them...

Sounds like everyone is having a busy 2017.

Ours got very busy about 2am on a Monday morning when we got a mandatory evacuation call. I stepped outside to the see the ridge to the East of us in flames.

We had to evacuate from our place for 8 days because of the firestorm that destroyed over 5,000 homes in Sonoma and Napa County. Although the fires were closing in on 3 sides, Calfire was able to stop it in time to save our home. We ended up sleeping on a cot in the Tack Room in the Fairground stables next to our horse and donkey. It was an "interesting" 8 days.

We were very fortunate. Even though our home was spared, life is not "normal" around here these days. We personally know too many people who were devastated by the fires.

We did make some new friends at the Fairgrounds. This Swedish Warmblood is 17.1 hands tall. (1 hand = 6 inches)

This shows how close the fire came to a neighbors home.

Near another neighbor - fortunately he had a large clear area around his house.

Inside the city limits, the fires destroyed the homes built on the ridge where I lived about 20 years ago.

Hi all,

Good to see some familiar names :-)

Tim, those really show the impact the fires have had on the community there but I'm glad your place was ok.

I've not been around for a while and I'm getting back into the forum again now - been shooting mostly airshows and aircraft:
