Model 28?

The Captain and crew finally got their stuff together, now if we can only remember where we left it.

Model 28?

Yes, a Highway Patrolman.

Got a tiny bit of play in the cylinder now, but still a great revolver.

Nice. I used to own a model 29.

BTW, your image seems vaguely familiar. Here's a shot I took back in 2009. :-)

NavyDoc, they do look similiar for sure! I had to quickly look at the exif data, my two shots were taken in May 2011.

The S&W has done some work since then, but the 92FS has REALLY done some work as my wife and I shoot IPSC each weekend. I know a lot of folks put crap on the 92FS's but its had now roughly around 100,000+ rounds and I've replaced one spring (that I lost) and it just keeps going and going.

Jim, after I posted, I noticed I used the wrong date. I posted a date the image was modified rather than shot which was on 10/18/2009, the month and year I joined POTN. Regardless, we obviousely have good taste. :)

I also used to own a 9mm Taurus PT92 I believe that was identical to the Baretta. Mine came with a high capacity magazine of 15 rounds. I also had a custom magazine that carried 30 rounds. :-)

Yours is also very nice. The 28 and 29 are both N frames as I'm sure you guys already knew. The difference being .357 vs .44.
But that's another story. ;-)a

NavyDoc, those images are sooo close. With the dates now confirmed and you posting back then, I probably (more than likely, most definitely!) plagiarized you.

I do believe in coincidences, but those pics are just so close! So as they as they say "imitation is the highest form of flattery" your pic(s) must have had an impact on me all those years ago.

We are limited to 10 shot mags here, they even have to be factory made 10 shot mags. The crimped down 15 shot to 10 shot mags are even illegal!

I've never shot a .44 mag pistol, shot the cartridge in a lever action rifle that bruised the hell outta' my shoulder!

From what I've read the M27 and the M28 are very close, the M27 had a better bluing job I think? They would have been big heavy revolvers to carry around all day doing police work that's for sure.

That's correct. The 27 had a more polished finish, sort of a deluxe version of the 28, albeit they are basically the same gun.
I once had the pleasure of firing a 2 & 1/2" model 29 with hot magnum loads. I swear the hand grip pattern was imprinted into my hand.

Thanks. My image shows off my replica "Regulator" single action .45 revolver and is the only hand gun I still own. Your comment regarding the chambering of the model 28 and 29 made me look it up and now I believe mine was the model 19. I owned it many years ago and bought it to qualify at the local Sheriff's academy. It was a .357 if I recall but I fired .38 specials. Prior to that, I owned a Colt .357 Trooper.

I owned the Taurus many years ago too, before the restrictions on magazines. Heck, I even had a Ruger Mini 14 with a 30 round bannana clip.

I also noted that both images display the famous Aces and Eights hand.
