I have been a photographer for over 30 years and have done everything except nudes. I'm considering learning about nude photography, however..I have no interest in photography young, pretty females. I myself am an older woman and would prefer to shoot older males, because that would be interesting and artistically gratifying. Has anyone done older male models? Not trying to be prurient here, just wondering.

Thanks.

Looks like a genre no one can help with, or admit too!

Not sure if that's it, but just doesn't seem to be very popular.

In my opinion you should shoot what makes you happy.
Find some willing subjects and have some fun!

The greatest learning tool that I have found is simple experimentation.

I see many questions along the same lines.....'what are your settings?.........what's your lighting...'

The most benefit I've found is to try it, using the skills you already have. Then, looking at your results, adjust from there.

I think the popularity of female nudes is that men like to look at them. With respect to male nudes, woman are more complex; they don't seem to be as visually oriented. You might have seen humor that answers the question: How to please a woman. It's two pages long. With men there are only two items: bring beer, show up naked.

Be that as it may, the existence of greco-roman sculpture demonstrates that there is a respectable genre for male nudes. I posed for an artist whom I dated some years back. I was in my 50s.

Maybe contact a college art department for some leads?

look for figure drawing groups, there are often older men modeling in those.
yes I have shot older male nudes, as a pushing 60 male i have modeled as well.

A gym maybe a good place as well. Go during the day, As they will go when the crowds are smaller. If you find someone who takes good care of their body and is a little vain (not me lol), ask them, chances are they will be flattered and say yes.

Look for nudist groups, maybe on meetup.
Yoga groups ?

A challenging group to find, but like other groups of people, once you start making inroads opportunities will start opening up.

Hello Rainyday,

I found your thread from a Google search and joined the forum just now. I had no idea that such a forum existed and am really pleased to have found it.

Like you I despair of finding anyone, in my case a photographer, it's great shame that we are separated by an ocean.

I had joined several modelling sites but rarely got a shoot and never the chance to make series of images or be part of a project. Since then I've been making self images but I would still like to work with a photographer.

Cheers
