Yeah... I'm not crazy about keeping my photos in the Cloud. What I would really like is a version of LR that would let me access my photos on any device across my home wireless network.

I have little interest in the "New" Lightroom CC from the information available. I will (sooner or later) upgrade to the (newly designated) Lightroom Classic, and I am intrigued by the new Color Range and Luminance Masking tools. But I'm waiting until bug reports, or lack thereof, come out. At least they do put the stake in the ground and end rumors of any new standalone Lightroom editions (There is no Lightroom 7 coming).

Some links for info;

I downloaded the Lightroom Classic. I'm not sure I'll bother with the other "cloud" version.

Were you doing anything in particular when it crashed? I haven't had any issues with mine. I'm on Windows 10.

Mine has worked flawlessly for me, so far. I'm also on Win 10.

Been getting that, and some images are corrupted on import. Before I rebooted (after install) it was 100%, after reboot I got just a few out of 800 images. Checked image on card and it was fine.

MacOS.

Meh.

Yes, importing.

I'm having the same experience with the crashing on attempted imports. It's almost unusable.

Edit: btw, I'm using LR classic.

Kinda late here but I got it 3 weeks ago. No issues.

I did not install LR CC and I doubt I will. I doubt I will ever sync to the cloud with the CC launchpad app either. All storage is local. Good to know about the new Embedded and Sidecar preview builds and there others. Sidecar gets you going in culling on Jpeg while the RAW previews build.

Also some good tips here. I had most set up as suggested. The other day I moved my Catalogue LR Folder back to the HD but left the files on the external drive. I also moved my cache folder into the LR folder.

I use a MAC and there was in update to High Sierra. I guess I did not notice the question about updating the format to APFS which is apple file system. My macbook air is SSD so it does it automatically.

I'm think I'm going to update my iMac tomorrow. APFS is optimized for SSD but it won't hurt the iMac.
