Love the Mini Van. When I first passed my test I used one of them at work, great fun.

I didn't even know they made them in the van/long version of the classics...

Part of me really wants a set of wheels like that for my R56S...but it needs so much other work right now that a new set of wheels is out of the question...

It's the commercial variant of the countryman/woody, once very common as a cheap car for the small business. Not many left now.
Originaly they wouldn't have had 13x7" wheels, more like steel 10".

here it is without the heavy pp
(sadly it's now being restored and taking a lot of time and money)

this one is a later 1275 spi and fully restored only a few years back

I never knew there was a Countryman of sorts in the original line. That's very cool.

I have a 15 Countryman S.

It's the estate version with wood trim, nothing to do with suv/4wheel drive. This is a link to a picture of the original countryman(not mine)

http://www.geocities.jp ...964mk1/p_countryman01.jpg (external link)

In the new bmw mini the estate is called the clubman but this was original the one with the square nose, like this:

so quite confusing overall-?

I mean as far as for the working photographer, not to shoot...

What you can't see in the photo - muddy bootprints all over the roof and trunk lid . . . sometimes a higher POV yields a better composition.

It's all about getting the image - nothing else matters!

.

I think if someone tried this on the road in the UK, you would quickly get stopped by the police due to the fixed metal frame. :p

Sold my 964 - kids didn't fit anymore, wasn't driving it as much as it needed to be driven and regular maintenance costs were driving me nuts! :(
Pick up this little toy though, twice the doors, twice the space, with the mods it has over twice the horsepower too (not quite half the price though)

I have a photographic memory, just wish I'd remember to take the lens cap off more often!

Thanks. They are actually on in that shot. (you can see the 3 LEDs) They don't really light up much with a bit of ambient lighting available, but they light up nice when it's darker out.
