I've been using ML RAW and this video shows great progress (I think) from my previous. The ML shots are 1920x1080 45p using the crop_rec module and look buttery. Check it out!

The white text at the beginning I can't read when it's over the white logo.

The first shot of the pelican doesn't match the style of the rest of the video.

Upbeat music is a good choice for a fishing trip, but the combination of slow motion and long cuts don't match with the music. I'd significantly shorten the time from shot to shot and/or speed up some of the shots from slow to fast (throw net would be a good example). I want to feel when I watch it like I'm right in the action of the boat and you are taking me on a fishing trip of a lifetime, not like I've been sitting there for hours an actually fishing!

It really felt for me, like a home video with music. I think there would be a huge improvement if you focused more on the story telling. The throw net shot is a great start, but fill in on both sides of that.

Closeup shots of the gear being setup, boat launch, traveling to the bait, prepping bait, close shots mixed with wide shots. Change perspective, move while shooting a subject. Casting, landing the fish, video of the fish being held up instead of a picture.

I think you have a great subject and idea and you've got a great start in this video. Go back if you can and rework it. Figure out a way to light those night shots and the fish being landed, its the most important part of this story! Looking toward to more.

Thanks for the critique. Next movie will focus more on B-roll...this was fishing first and shooting secondary.
