gear - Lunt LS60THa solar telescope, ZWO178MC camera and SharpCap software

viewing a bit steadier today, making for one of my better single frame images :-)

Some nice prominences in the lower left and a sprinkling of smaller ones elsewhere
and a very large filament ( in 2 sections)

cheers
Dave

You are getting there, it is soft a bit to me, but nice colors, and nice effort, sure you will do great sooner or later, i hope i can buy a scope so i can beat you to the sun[Solar] imaging, we have the sun light more than you maybe.

Thanks buddy :)

This type of solar observing is becoming an obsession :-)

Unfortunately haven't had a chance to do any imaging since the 24 Nov
due to late home from work or cloud
I am missing a huge prominence that is currently visible

I know what you mean . It’s starting to get dark when i get off here in Texas . Days here are shorter all the time. One thing about winter is long nights if imaging or observing .

So i am lucky then, because we have normal days not very short with shiny sun, and nice nights free of clouds, only this time of year we are expecting clouds because it is almost winter here, but still not everyday clouds anyway, so i can always have days an nights for the sky and i am not in rush, i feel next year will be my serious or main time for sky astro imaging.
