The rok 24 is one of the sharpest lenses I own , I’ve never read a bad thing about it

I have the 8mm Fisheye and it's an awesome lens. I'm thinking about getting a 24mm or a 35mm soon.

Fantastic - I was looking at the 14mm for a dedicated astro lens.

Awesome - thanks very much! Any experience with the 14mm?

I had the 24mm Canon 1.4 and rented this lens to compare the two.
I sold the Canon and bought the Rokinon 24mm, 35mm and 85mm.
Does that answer your question? ;-)a

Holy hell yes it does! Thanks very much - sounds like this is going to be my next purchase. 24mm or 14mm?

I owned the 14 before too, not as sharp as the 24 but decent enough. It has a fair bit of distortion which the lens profile can’t fully remove. The distance scale is usually incorrect too but it can be altered so that it reads correctly. The 14 also seems more susceptible to decentering so getting a good copy can be difficult. The 24 doesn’t have these issues plus it takes filters easily

Awesome - very good to know. I can find the 14 for fairly cheap here, but haven't seen a used copy of the 24. I will keep an eye out for the 24.

As xpfloyd said, the 14 mm has a lot of distortion. You will get trailing at the ends even with shorter shutter speeds.

Anyone using the Hoya red intensifier? I'm still on the fence with it, I don't like the green tint it produces. This was shot with the 24

From my back yard - I love where I live

And from our recent vacation to Maui - I didn't take the Samyang due to trying to save weight but I wish I had packed it. The 16-35 did OK but I know the f/1.4 would have been awesome there.

The not so popular opposite end of the Milkyway core at the Grand Canyon.

QUOTED IMAGE

I've used it, and I like it, but I get lazy about putting it on. :-D I've noticed more of a blueish tint with it.

Mine is permanently on the 24, for now. I did some with and without tests a while ago, might need to revisit those pix.
