My local paper had me shoot a baseball game. The lens works great here too. I tried to get the perfect bat on the ball shot. This was as close as I got :( why was his arm over his face when the ball was on the bat

Few hours at Colchester Zoo on a bank holiday weekend during school holidays in scorching temperatures, what could possibly go wrong lol.
It was a day for a tiger today, not a lot of variation but she did at least stay in one place, fencing was around 10' away so couldn't lose it completely, tried to mask it a little in lightroom - not perfect but hey - it was a zoo so there are going to be fences sometimes!

All in camera jpeg with a few minimal tweaks in lightroom, 1DX mkII

Can't believe there aren't more post's / users for this lens, just a few more to 'bump' the thread.

Haha. I think the price of admission for this puppy puts it in the "uncommon lens to own" range. :)

Not usually a great fan of B&W but thought I would give this one a go (as it's chucking it down with rain today) and am surprised at how it looks, liked it enough to have gone for a 16x20 canvas of it. What do you guys think?

This may have been covered previously, but what lens plate / replacement foot are people using? I've just purchased a used copy of this lens and want to ditch the tall foot as I did with my previous 500.

Any tips?

Thanks, not sure how easy it is to find RRS stuff in the UK, but I'll have a look.

Do you know if the lens feet are interchangeable? would a 400 2.8ii one fit? I've read conflicting things!

I use the standard larger foot with the 'pro media' plate and head

Lens should have also come with a smaller 'monopod' foot, think mines still in the box as I prefer the set up above.

Thanks for the suggestions, I have a Kirk lens plate on it's way that if I don't get on with I'll replace with a foot.

I need it for Thursday, I couldn't find anywhere with a foot in stock that would arrive on time!

Thanks
