Is that simply to transport? Or do you use the tripod while shooting on the water?

It is mostly transportation but I do submerge the tripod for landscape shots in up to four or five feet of water. It isn't too difficult to do from the kayak in calm water but I am very careful. Caddo Lake is filled with Cypress trees and there is rarely a place to land.

I shoot hand held for wildlife or if the water is too deep or choppy.

This guy swam right by me and almost filled the frame. I'm going to have to tape my aperture dial so it doesn't move when I put it in or take it out of the bag. It was seriously underexposed. Sure am glad I have an 80D now so it was recoverable.

Really nice. I love Grebe’s and always get annoyed when they dive and I can’t find them.

Thank you! Same here. I was in the shade watching it and it either didn't see me or didn't care.
