Not 1 but 2 Female Black Redstarts seen at Brean Sands in Somerset yesterday. Both both being bullied by a dominating bully of a small robin.

Black-bellied Whistling Duck. I had to really work hard to ID this one as these guys usually are not found this far north so they weren't in any of my usual reference material. Apparently sightings of these guys in Oklahoma have been increasing over the last decade or so.

Firstly I love your photo's

Yes would love to see them back in Somerset. Around 20 visited Tesco's carpark at Bradley Stoke Bristol in March. It was the 3rd year I know of they visited. They were feeding from the berries on the trees in the car park. They stayed for 2 weeks. The local press came and photographed me taking photo's of them and they interviewed me. It led to a spot on local television.

Soon after Tesco's had the trees Cut down to prevent this from happening again. I was contacted by the press to follow up on the story as it angered many people. Again it got in the press.

Very Sad for the birds and the trees and the general appearance of the car park. So I doubt now they will visit the area again.

Thanks, Jack. Last February was the first time we had seen Waxwings and I was so intent on getting photos that I didn't just stand and enjoy watching them, so I keep hoping for another chance.

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.

Amazing photo! I love these. Where I grew up in South Texas, USA we had three different kingfishers - Green, Belted, and Ringed.
