$789 at Adorama today

I placed an order, almost ordered last week for $989, glad I waited... :)

You know, if you'd placed an order with Adorama and we dropped the price within 30 days you'd email me for a credit....I've never yet known such a request not be honored....

I too placed an order with Adorama on Monday for the $789 deal. Before placing the order I did a live chat asking if I paid the $49 for overnight shipping if it would be here on Tuesday and was informed that nothing would be shipping until Tuesday so I wouldn't receive it until Wednesday. I decided to pay the extra as this was important to me since we are leaving for a trip on Thursday to get photos of a Snowy Owl and I wanted more reach than my Canon 100-400. Well as of this evening I hadn't received a shipping notification and I had another live chat with Adorama to find out there was some sort of delay at the warehouse. Please note, my intent isn't to "bash" Adorama but this was really disappointing. I canceled the order and drove to a new camera store in our area called "ProCam" and bought a copy of the Sigma from them. So just be careful when selecting overnight shipping, it seems you don't always get something the next day!

With that said, let the fun begin! This is one of my first shots with the lens, just so happens this evening is a Supermoon! I made several adjustments in post, but I'm very pleased so far. I still have about 180 pages to read in this thread, but I'm very thankful for the advice or suggestions that I've read thus far. They've really helped in my purchase decision.

Can I please get your order number so I can follow up on this? Helen@adorama.com

Sure, A2018010114195925786.

Thank you.

One of the packaging machines broke down yesterday; a rare occurrence and not something any of us could have anticipated. But it meant that around 500 packages didn't make it out of the door and on to the UPS trailer as expected.

I apologize for the inconvenience and frustration caused.

I've been playing around a bit today. This thing is definitely a beast.
Still trying to dial in the focus....

Hi Helen,
Any idea when orders might start shipping again? I ordered this lens last Saturday and was expecting it to ship Tuesday, but so far no word.
