Excellent series of shots and very well focused. My preference, #9. Absolutely gorgeous. KUDOS to you.

Have plenty of Canons, enough ammo, enough to blow 'em to "L". Now, I just have to learn to aim.

Great shots.
Your Langkawi "eagle" is a Haliastur indus, the Brahminy Kite. Common in South East Asia and some parts of Australia.

Hi John, just saw your beautiful captures in Langkawi. I plan to visit the island this year but wondering when is a good time and how I can arrange to visit this location where the eagles/kites are feeding. I tried to PM you but I have not figured how to do this. Thanks!
Harry

Thanks Harry! I sent a reply, but in case you didnt get........

On Langkawi, I personally rented a scooter for the weekend to be able to buzz all over and get in as much as I could. To get to the eagles, I went to the Kilim Jetty on the north eastern side of island. I ended up getting a private water taxi so that selfishly I had both sides of boat and lots of room to shoot. I brought a 24-70 lens, a 200 2.8L and a 400 5.6L and honestly used only the 200 while shooting eagles as they get close. If you have a 70-200 that might be your best bet. Bring lots of memory for your camera.... I was overwhelmed with how many photos I shot during the eagle feeding. I think it is ok to pay your water taxi driver a little extra if you want to stay a little longer at the eagle spot. Make sure to take the cable car up to the langkawi sky bridge and if you like prawns, there were many roadside stops for BBQ prawns with black pepper and garlic....so tasty and inexpensive!

Have a great trip and be prepared to deal with a lot of humidity.

John
