Does that happen with the fresnel head too?

Both. Seems to be the connectors. Second time having this issue (2 different ad200s)

Not that it couldn't...just wondering about loss of power in a softbox and how effective it will be at overpowering the sun for mid day portraits.

Did you tighten the knob on the side?

Anyone have a fix for this issue? First one was replaced and this is happening again on another one. Godox customer service is terrible with no reasons to me via email.

My second AD200 kit showed up today. I'm stoked.

I'm perplexed as to why Adorama made this bundle with the Glow HexaPop 24" Portable Softbox since it is setup for a speedlight. This softbox doesn't have a removable white face either... it's sewed in. Very strange and kinda' useless for me.

Wondering what everyones best bang for the buck choice is for a 36" Octa (for use with the AD-B2 Twin Head)?

For me, it's this one: https://strobepro.com ...-folding-umbrella-octabox (external link)

That's Canadian $$$.

I've had mine up and down a few hundred times and it's just starting to show some minor wear. I even use it with 150w modelling lamps for long periods of time, as a continuous light soft box (the heat should be abusive to the materials). And, it's holding up very well. You can leave all the diffusion panels in place - I do. It's literally 30 seconds to setup.

EZ Pro 36" Octa. Have been using it with PCB mount and Bowens for more than 8 years, still going strong. There are more expensive ones with better build, but for under $100, the EZ Pro is my recommendation.

At least you are getting consistent replies. :-)

The StrobePro softbox I linked to is a rebranded version of the EZ Pro 36".

I like my Fotodiox EZ Pro 48" Octa so much that I plan on buying the smaller 36" version really soon. I want a smaller Octa for use outdoors, the 48" can be a bit big at times.

Just FYI to anyone curious, I have done two rounds of testing the Evolv in advance of an article I'm writing about them, and what I found was surprising. The color temp stability is within 400K across the power output, at least as far as I could test.

However, pleasantly surprised to see that within a fixed power setting they're crazy stable, both in color and power output. Here's an example:

Comparing optimal output against a speedlight, if you're just looking at efficiency and not fall off, or if you're looking to do work with a hard shadow... the Evolv is capable of putting out over 2 stops more light than an SB-800 (Evolv reflector versus SB-800 fresnel):

If, however, you're looking to equalize an Evolv with a speedlight in terms of coverage, the speedlight actually puts out more light at the center by a third of a stop, but falls off much faster. So, this is the SB-800 vs the Evolv with a bare bulb:

If you're looking to how lights behave inside a modifier, and what they do in terms of creating a "style" of light, look at the difference between the Evolv and SB-800 and how they fill a 6ft silver umbrella with sock. It's as if the speedlight turns the 6ft umbrella in to a 4ft:

Oh, and lastly, I took 6 sequential frames from one of the power settings. This is the series which shows the largest shifts in color and output changes, maybe 1 or 2 points at most per channel. And I made an overlay animation to see how perceptible that is in real world output. Obviously GIFs ruin image quality but I'm not at all joking when I say these are 6 consecutive frames at a given power setting showing the Evolv at its worst:

Used my AD200 outside again, this time on a winter rally event. Really liking it so far.
