I use Canon 5D mk IV paired with the 70-200 L II with IS. I might have used a too slow shutter speed.

Beautiful images!

Dogs in motion are VERY DIFFICULT to nail. What camera are you using?

Biggest piece of advice? get your shutter speed up there as much as you can. ive found with Luna here (a Cardigan Welsh Corgi) i need over 1/1000 to avoid motion blur sometimes. Yes. Seriously.

Stick to smaller toys, larger ones will be grabbed by the AF system accidentally (Her orange spiked ball works ok, i have some smaller ones but they get lost in the snow too easily)

It takes allot of practice. You need fast AF, and I use only some of Canon's best glass :f/2.8 70 -200 II , 300mm f/2.8 IS, 100-400 II. All work well. I have lots of examples in my gallery. For camera bodies I use the Canon 1DXII and the 1D4. Quick fast reliable AF is an absolute necessity if you hope to capture the best shots of dogs in action.

I took my first trip to Sprewell Bluff in Thomaston GA this morning. I was looking to do long exposures of the water but the top was mostly ice.

Yep. Agreed totally. the 7D Mark II is amazing at tracking her, especially with the 70-200 f/2.8L IS
