Not sure if the snow is real or not but to me, it doesn't looks like a nice place to shoot with small kids (safety wise).

I don't think safety is a concern as the parents are right there, but the snow looks very fake especially as no one has a coat on. It's interesting to that not one flake is in front of the family. Otherwise I like the picture.

There are white bits in front of the legs and feet of the adults and one of the children.

I personally wouldn't worry too much about location safety as long as their are more adults than children. But if there are more kids than adults setting safety starts to matter more and more. Assuming people use common sense, and the photography location isn't the middle of a freeway etc...

incredible D.o.F selection

I'm really liking this photo! Great shot.

I do have a couple questions.
1. How did you keep light from spilling onto the ground?
2. Where was the light placed? I can't see any catch lights in her eyes...

Sorry, just now seeing your questions... I had a 34" octa camera left angled just slightly down.

I didn’t angle it down very far, it was nearly straight at her which keep it from illuminating the ground

Here’s an old one. Still love this shot. YN-560 for rim on the wall, behind subject and another YN-560 in BD for key, boomed camera top right.
