Yes there is good detail in the beak. Birds eyes, beaks, head feathers, claws are my test methods. You know right away.

Gotta steer clear of 'em Jeff when shooting and watch where you put your feet. They roost in their thousands covering the ground in guano, and carry the Hendra virus, but despite that, they are still classed as a protected species...............cute little buggers though :-)

QLD and NSW government both say it's only a problem if you are a horse.

There is no evidence of bat-to-human, human-to-human or human-to-horse spread of Hendra virus.

There is no evidence of Hendra virus spreading from flying fox-to-human or human-to-human.

True, but lyssavirus, a rabies-like virus, can be transmitted from bats to humans, causing serious illness or death. It usually requires a bite or scratch but even bat saliva in the eyes, mouth or a cut can transmit it.

True, but there's been a couple of deaths, in the last couple of years, one a vet, of humans who contracted it from horses infected by bats. Direct contact can also expose you to lyssavirus. That said, just because there's "no evidence" that Hendra virus can be contracted by humans in direct contact, isn't a definitive answer that it can't be. There is no "direct evidence" That Bush and Blair trumped up the Gulf War, but I wouldn't want to bet my life on it.:lol:

Not touching that as "prohibited" is very clear.

Just think how many flying foxes contract some form of terminal condition via contact with humans!

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.
