Looking to confirm my research and for any additional suggestions, on an upcoming trip where I'd like to do my first astro photography. I have a 6D and picked up a 14mm Rokinon 2.8 and iOptron Skytracker.

I understand during late March and early April that my best chance for seeing the Milky Way in Arizona is early in the morning before Sunrise, given the moonrise and moonset tables here:

As well as downloading and trying to figure out Stellarium it looks like I actually have a nice window to capture it and that my best bet is when I first get into town, the evenings from the 24th to the 26th, between 3 and 5 am.

Looks like for the rest of the trip the moon phase and position will obscure the Milky Way either mostly or completely.

If anyone can confirm and has any other recommendations I'd appreciate it.

I understated f 2.8, 20-30 seconds, at 3200-6400 ISO are good places to start. Need to learn a bit more about stacking and longer exposures with the iOptron.

Thanks,

Adam
