Flag code "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning"

they need to get a new one.

I agree time for a new one, that flag had served its time, I do believe it is time for it to be relieved of its watch, and retired. But even in its old age it still looks beautiful IMO.

Speaking of retiring flags....

While working with the Boy Scouts in St. Peters, Missouri I attended a flag retirement ceremony held at a local American Legion. Very impressive ceremony.

Located at the base of the American Legion flagpole is a buried container with a lid stating "Ashes of retired U.S. flags." I thought that was great, too, that the ashes of these flags were set in the ground at the base of a flagpole with a current flag proudly waving in the breeze.
