Miss Ella will be 3 on the last day of this month. She told me she wanted a red cape & blue mask for Christmas (I made her one as well as for each of her brothers) & she loves Tangled, Frozen & Moana. As little as she is (25 lbs) she is mighty. When Tristan took her favorite swing she set out to dump him off & reclaim it for herself. As you can see, she was successful (don't you love Tristan's boots in the air as he goes down?). She makes me laugh every day.....and I am pretty sure all my gray hairs are coming from her as well.:-P

Greetings from Yellowstone. It is 8:20 pm & I am laying in bed drinking beer & watching the Olympics after a 10 hour day out in the park. We have had an amazing trip including watching a pack of 16 wolves take down a young bison for dinner. Now we were a good 1/4 mile away or better so my 400mm lens just couldn’t do much that distance but I tell you, it was just way more than I could ever hope to see here. We were all so thrilled.

Brilliant Maureen, you’ve anticipated this trip for a while. Enjoy it, and of course, post the pics when you return home.

You should've taken a 800/5.6 with a teleconverter, Just kidding, of course. :-)
Sounds like a great first day.

Off to the airport early in the morning. One thing I forget is how quickly wildlife appear & are so unpredictable. On Saturday I was standing in front of the snow coach photographing a Herd of bison ambling our way when the bull in front kicked up his hind legs & they broke into a gallop towards us. Scary, but we managed to get on the coach safely....
Yesterday we spotted a red fox on a hill along the roadside. We quietly got out to photograph him when the fox heard a mouse under the snow. His nose went down & he followed the mouse right down the hill in front of us. I completely forgot to rein in my 400mm end of the lens as the fox walked right up in front of me. I am sure some of my photos are out of focus but I ended up just lowering the camera & watched that fox as he crossed the road, found another mouse to chase & go about his business. It was amazing...hoping a few shots came out okay.....

I might do this trip again next year. Anybody interested?
