I had a couple of different Olympus cameras in my early years, but I do not remember the models anymore.

What is the Portra 160 you mention?

Thank you!

It has been years, decades since I have used film, so I am outta sync with knowing what everything is anymore.

I returned to 35mm film in early 2015 by dusting off my Minolta XG1. Later that summer, I wanted a Nikon SLR and picked up a nice FE2 with a 50mm f1.8 on a facebook photo group. Great little camera with a bit of character (brassing and a dented prism).

I've shot a few rolls through this one so far.

March 2015 - within a month after returning to 35mm film, I wanted a rangefinder. After spending some time online reading on the subject, I scored a clean Yashica Electro 35 GSN on ebay. I've shot a few rolls through it since, nice camera.

I've never touched a Nikon before. Everything is backwards from my Canons.

IMAGE: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4795/26694034388_214bf2b9ab_b.jpg

The wheel is in the back for my thumb to use, lens threads on backwards, AF/MF switch is on the body, even the meter is backwards. Lol, the first few shots I though I was overexposing....but I wasn't. I also haven't used a zoom lens in a long time.

My grandpa bought it for my dad in 1982. The SureShot in the middle was gifted to my mother from her parents shortly before I was born. They both work and have film in them currently. :)

Very cool. I bought my XGA, first "real" camera, one year later while stationed in Fort Sill, OK. Been a Minolta fan ever since. They're awesome cameras, and some of the lenses that Minolta made over the years are absolutely exceptional. Looks like yours might have the 50 1.7 attached. Same one I had. Enjoy the camera. I think it will serve you well
