Hi All,

I'm heading out to Punta Cana this Friday (03/16/18) and was wondering if any of you have gone there. Any recommendations on places to visit? Things to photograph?

I'll be taking a 24-105, 100-400, and maybe a 85.

TIA.

I was there last year with my wife and some friends. I took my 6D, 16-35, and 70-210. I used the 16-35 far more than the 70-210(I'm still happy I took a long(er)) lens. I really missed having my tripod. I didn't want to be carrying too much gear, it just gets in the way. This is the second time I travel to tropical places and the one bit of advice is to be careful with the humidity. I was lucky both times to be in a very secure/safe place on the second floor, I just left my gear out on the balcony so I would not be going back and forth between AC and humid environments. If you are brave enough, rent a car! You can arrange your own tours, save a bundle, and have far more flexibiility. We went to Higuey and Santo Domingo, both very nice day trips.

Thanks for the reminder about the humidity! I didn't even think about that.
