Found a free app to read shutter counts today ( Yes free no strings attached ).
It's called Astro photography tool and does other things i have not looked into yet.

It also showed my 40D to be at 51,991
My 7D at 133,257 but could not tell me what my 1Diii has on it

My 7Dii is in great condition considering the count and i take it to the beach, out in the fog and light rain etc.

Damm great camera it has been.

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.

Yes i am i hope it goes past it's expected count though, should know later in the year.

Shutters can fail when the shutter count is low or they could last for 400,000 actuations or more. It's the luck of the draw.

Its all good until one day its not. start planing for the future. I sure miss mine. what is left is not quite the same.
