Next week I’ll be in Madison, WI for most of the week for business. I’ll be free in the evenings, and at least one free afternoon. I’m hoping to get out and shoot some street photography during my free time.

I’m posting here today to get ideas on places around town to go shoot.

Any recommendations?

Legendary music producer Butch Vig is from Madison. . He had a studio there where his band Garbage wrote and recorded most of their material. . Nirvana also used that studio ..... in fact, that is where their most successful album, Nevermind, was recorded and mixed. . The Smashing Pumpkins also worked there in the early 1990s.

The name of the studio was Smart Studios. . A documentary film was made about it called the Smart Studios Story. . Here's a link to the trailer, and an opportunity to rent it for $1.99

Billy Corgan of Smashing Pumpkins says it all when he says,
"It's pretty fascinating when you think of Smart Studios ..... all these magic moments have happened in this, basically in this little s___hole."

Here is a link to Smart Studios' Wikipedia page:

In any event, if you are interested in pop/rock/alternative music at all, you may find it interesting to do some research to find out where the studio was and to visit the site while you are in Madison.

I would think that photos of the studio and its surroundings may make for some interesting street photography.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".
