I can't compete with your awesome bee photos. But I like to think I'm getting good with race photos!

I want to die peacefully, in my sleep, like my grandfather.
Not screaming, terrified, like his passengers.

No exactly the greatest photo I ever took, but isn't that little guy cute? Unfortunately it took off and vanished before I could get a really good shot.

Superb!!!

Do you typically just hangout in the same area and let them land near you or do you tactfully approach?

Looks like a great combo and technique!

Fantastic colors and I love how the sun's reflection on the water looks!

Thanks!
I do both, depending on the animal and the situation.
For example, bees are often pretty hyperactive, flying from flower to flower, so most of the times I follow them around and carefully get close enough to take a shot.
Dragonflies often have favorite spots they will return to. So even if one flies off I just get in position and wait. Often it will return after a short while and then I can take a shot.

It was 10pm at our holiday home in the Highlands of Scotland when we had a visitor, It was almost dark, but a high ISO and some PP on my iPad saved the day. This pic was taken through a window and handheld. These deer are beautiful, shy creatures and as a city dweller it’s wonderful to see them so close.
