Dead Life
Hi, all !
Last weekend I've been to Yankee Candle Company (Western Massachussets) and made some pictures in the Car and Candle museums and outdoor. It was not sunny day, that's why original photos got too grey and flat. It was pity to throw them away, so that I decided to correct them in PhotoShop. I think it is very interesting what you have done with these photos. Photoshop is a very powerful tool and I have yet to fully tap into it. Keep Playing!!!

Sure.
Three pictures (LightHouse, Yankee Candle, Yankee Candle 2) originally was grey and flat, as I've already told, and absolutely unattractive. To make them more live I inversed the curve in PS, making negative. Looked good. then I decided to play further with curve and made it like letter "M". Looked good again  I found the shape of the curve, which preseved real color for sign "Yankee Candle Company" and brought more surrealism into the picture. The same I did with "LihtHouse near the road". I belive that I was not the first who used this technique, but for me it was small discovery. I am very reluctant to throw away my pictures, even bad. At least it might help to save more and give another life to the photo. The "Green Old Jaguar" was a bit out of focus. So I cut off the backgroud and replaced it with gradient. The main was applied Diffusion Glow filter to make it even more soft. These three sitting Guys were modified with Noise. It was too dark and I had no tripod, so that it came out a bit out focus too. The "Light": i'm sorry, this picture was brought there occasionally. I processed more than two months ago and I don't remember for shure, what I did. Definitely, I played with the Curve and then applied Light filter. The others came out of the camera. By the way, "The trio" are the puppets (!). But how well done !!! They move, sleep, speak and play music like alive. I was listening their concert about 15 minutes. After resampling I applied Sharpen mask in Lightness channel in LAB mode. I found that sharpenning is much better to this way, Lightness channel preserve color during sharpenning. "The Candle" was shot sitting at the restaurant table. Natural, nothing has been changed.
